Question:
What is your adoption process?
Answer:
Our adoption process begins once you complete and submit
your adoption application. This is mandatory and no
information about a bulldog is released until this is
done. All applications are reviewed in detail by Bully
for You. Due to our requirements on caring for the breed
and the volume of applications we receive, Bully for
You will not contact those who do not meet our minimum
qualifications. Upon approval, we begin matching you
with our available bulldogs based on your preferences
and lifestyle. We then schedule a home visit to assess
how the bulldog interacts with you, your family, your
pets, and home conditions. If it is agreed by all that
they will be a good fit, we proceed to the final step
of the adoption, which is the transfer of ownership.
Please note: This is not conducted on the same day as
your initial home visit. You will be required to sign
an adoption contract and make a donation in the form
of an adoption fee ranging from $100 to $750. You will
also be required to have the bulldog taken to your veterinarian
within the first week after the contract is signed.
The bulldog then begins their new life as part of your
family. Back to Top
Question:
How much does it cost to adopt a bulldog?
Answer:
Our adoption fees generally range from $100 to $750.
These fees vary based on the age and health of the particular
bulldog. Senior (8-12 yrs) bulldogs are generally $100
to $250 in consideration of age and special needs. Adult
(4-7 yrs) and Young (1-4 yrs) bulldogs are generally
$250 to $500. Puppies (0-1 yr) are not typically seen
in rescue and are set from $500 to $750. If a bulldog
is on permanent medication or may need special care,
their fees may be lowered to compensate for the care
you will be providing. If a bulldog has needed surgery,
their fees may are raised to help cover the rescue's
cost of having the surgery performed. Please take
into consideration that it is rare for us to take in
a bulldog that needs only minimal care, so in the event
that this does happen, we use their adoption fee to
help offset those bulldogs whose cost of care exceeds
their adoption fee. Back to Top
Question:
Why do bulldogs need air conditioning?
Answer:
Bulldogs in general have physical or respiratory issues
that make it difficult for them to breathe. In excessive
heat, their lungs are working overtime to keep their
massive bodies cool. Because of this, they can quickly
overheat and experience adverse issues, including death.

Question:
How active are bulldogs?
Answer:
Bulldogs are typically laid back and do not require
a lot of exercise. Activity level of a bulldog depends
primarily on their age and gender. Short walks and light
play times will keep your bulldog fit and happy. Too
much exercise for a bulldog could lead to adverse issues,
so it is best to have your veterinarian provide you
with a personalized workout regiment. Back
