This site is dedicated to Bella, my first bully, who made me want to become a more knowledgeable and responsible pet owner; and Spike,
my first rescue, who opened my eyes to the world of abuse and neglect that touches even the most loving and gentle of breeds.

Tate
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 11 Restrictions: No Kids

Tate was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on August 24th. His family was moving and could not take him. He has some minor health issues with his skin, ear, and leg that will be addressed, but seems to be in overall good shape for his age. He is looking for a loving and stable retirement home to live out the rest of his golden years.

Congratulations to Krista and Nate with Petunia & Justa for being adopted by Tate on October 4, 2011!

Babe
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 8 Restrictions: No Kids

Babe was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on April 7th. His elderly owners decided to start travelling and chose to give him up. He had an untreated hematoma that caused his ear to swell to 2" thick, which caused him extreme pain. He had a surgery to "quilt" his ear and has made a full recovery, only needing ongoing drops now to prevent reinfection.

Congratulations to Justine, Martin, Gabe & the gang for being adopted by Babe on September 20, 2011!

Higgins
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 8 Restrictions: No Kids

Higgins was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on January 30th. His family recently had a baby and he did not adjust well to all the changes and commotion that came along with the new addition. He is a quiet old man that likes to relax and snuggle with the plush puppy he carries around everywhere with him. And don't let his age fool you, he still has a strong bully streak left in him!

Congratulations to Nancy and Jim for being adopted by Higgins on September 3, 2011!

Olga
2004-2011

Gender: F

Age: 7 Restrictions: No Children

Adoption Fee: $250

Olga was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on July 13th. For the past three years, she was fed a poor diet and not provided with vaccines, preventatives, or other vet care. She developed and continued to suffer from coccidia, losing 30 lbs and displaying severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. She came into rescue only after the vet refused their request to euthanize her and she was picked up from their porch where she was forced to stay.

Olga was in the process of being adopted by her foster parents when she suffered a stroke on August 27, 2011 and was unable to recover. She will be with us always in our thoughts and prayers.

Pearl
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 12 Restrictions: No Children, No Pets

Pearl was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on February 28, 2010. Her family had two small children and were concerned that the environment is no longer ideal for her senior years. She had dental surgery, and seems healthy for her age aside from some knee issues that cannot be corrected. She is looking for a very calm and quiet home without children or other pets.

Congratulations to us (Jen, Mitch, Keats, Kelso & Lola) for being adopted by Pearl on December 5, 2010!

Tootsie
2005-2010

Gender: F

Age: 5 Restrictions: None

Tootsie was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on November 13, 2010. Coming from another rescue who did not spay her originally, she was passed around as a breeder from owner to owner on Craigslist. Sadly, by the time her last owner contacted us, she had developed a severe case of pyometra and ovrian tumors and passed away in recovery at our vet only hours after her surgery on November 18th.

Even though she was only with us for a few short days, Tootsie was hoping to be adopted by her foster parents and will be greatly missed by them. She will be with us always in our thoughts and prayers.

Tyson
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 1 Restrictions: No Small Children, No Pets

Tyson was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on May 19, 2010. His owner was moving and unable to bring him along. He is a very healthy and active young boy who just needs some basic training and someone to spend a decent amount of time with him, as he is still working on crate training and overcoming mild separation anxiety. He loves toys and people.

Congratulations to Elaine for being adopted by Tyson on August 5, 2010!

Bodie
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 5 Restrictions: Special Needs (Medication twice daily)

Bodie was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on June 22, 2010. His family's situation changed and the relatives put in charge wanted a better life for him. He does require inexpensive medication twice a day to prevent seizures, but is otherwise in good health and has no limitations. He loves to be around people and other dogs and is an absolute sweetheart with everyone.

Congratulations to Dave for being adopted by Bodie on July 23, 2010!

Penny
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 8 Restrictions: No Small Children

Penny was welcomed into the rescue as a shelter pull on April 22, 2010. She was one of five dogs being used as breeders that were pulled from a barn in a neglect case. She has been spayed, had two chains of mammary tumors removed, and a mass taken from her mouth that extended into her nasal cavity and needed a skin graft to close the hole. She is a doll and loves everyone.

Congratulations to Susan for being adopted by Penny on June 25, 2010!

Daisy
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 3 Restrictions: None

Daisy was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on May 16, 2010. A social worker pulled her from a neglect situation where she was being kept in a crate around the clock. A large cherry eye has been causing scarring in one eye, and she is recovering from having it removed. Even after her horrible ordeal, she loves to snuggle up on your lap and hang out with the other bullies.

Congratulations to Sean, Alicia & Paige with Moby for being adopted by Daisy on June 17, 2010!

Emma
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 4 Restrictions: No Small Children, No Pets

Emma was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on January 30, 2010. Her family has fallen on hard times and can no longer handle her allergies. We have treated her skin irritations through better diet, grooming, and short term medication. She has recently undergone spay, palate, and double entropian surgery. She is a quiet girl who does not get along with most other pets.

Congratulations to the Tony, Shannon & kids for being adopted by Emma (and Scarlet!) on June 6, 2010!

Duke
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 2 Restrictions: None

Duke was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on February 1, 2010. His owner was going through a divorce and could no longer afford to research the cause of his medical issues. He has been neutered, had surgery on his eyelids, and is finishing up his three month long treatment for demodex mange. He is active, does well with other pets, and was raised with another bully.

Congratulations to Michelle and Mark with Clyde & Bella for being adopted by Duke on June 3, 2010!

Cash
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 6 Restrictions: None

Cash was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on March 15, 2010. His owners were moving and unable to take him along with them. He has recovered from surgery where he was neutered, had a lump removed from his back, and a toe amputated. He will need drops to help with his dry eye. He does well with other pets and is a big mellow guy who loves to nurse on his bed and play with every toy he can find.

Congratulations to Sara and Joe with Penny for being adopted by Cash on May 27, 2010!

Louden
2000-2010

Gender: M

Age: 10 Restrictions: No Small Children, No Pets

Louden was welcomed into the rescue as a shelter pull on February 6, 2009. He enjoys short walks in the yard and loves car rides, but will need a home with few to no stairs for his arthritis and elbow dysplasia. He will also do best in a home with no small children or other pets, as his eye sight is less than perfect and loud or sudden commotion tends to startle him.

After much time and thought, we have decided that Louden should remain with us at the rescue permanently. With the severity of his recent medical emergency, added to his aggression issues and the normal maintenance of his eye infections and shoulder displasia, we feel it is important for him to continue to get the care and attention he has grown comfortable with over the past year here.

Though he did not find a home past the rescue, we truly feel Louden adopted us and our three bullies.

After a great year with us here at the rescue, Louden passed away on April 7, 2010. He gave us so much joy and we are happy to have had him in our lives. He will be with us always in our thoughts and prayers.

Koko
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 10 Restrictions: No Small Children, No Pets

Koko was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on January 27, 2010. Her owner has health issues and needed to move where he was unable to take her along. Even though she is in her golden years, she is still very healthy and very active. No one can believe she is actually 10 years old and in such great shape! In fact, she is quite the little scrapper and would be happiest with no other dogs and no small children.

Congratulations to Beth, Dino & Alysa for being adopted by Koko on February 19, 2010!

Chevy
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 4 Restrictions: None

Chevy was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on December 29, 2009. His owners needed to move and was unable to take him along. He has undergone surgery for tail amputation and has been diagnosed as blind in one eye. He has been doing well with other dogs and loves to be around people. He is quiet at first, but has been starting to come out of his shell after he feels more comfortable in new environments.

Congratulations to Mike and Carly with Bell for being adopted by Chevy on February 17, 2010!

Brutus
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 4 Restrictions: None

Brutus was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on February 8, 2010. His family has taken good care of him, but felt they no longer had enough time for him. He is a shy boy at first, but once he comes out of his shell he loves to play and wrestle. He always wants to be with people or other dogs, and may need a little work with separation anxiety.

Congratulations to Megan and Jonathan for being adopted by Brutus on February 12, 2010!

Lucy
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 4 Restrictions: None

Lucy was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on December 18, 2009. Her family has taken good care of her, but can no longer keep her due to their own medical issues. She has had palate surgery and been spayed, and has been diagnosed with mild dysplasia. She has lived with another dog, but seems happiest when in a quiet setting with lots of human affection.

Congratulations to Laura for being adopted by Lucy on January 22, 2010!

Annabelle
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 9 mos Restrictions: Allergies/Hypersensitivity

Annabelle was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on January 7, 2010. Her family has taken good care of her, but she has several allergies and hypersensitivity, which can be a lot to handle with other dogs and children. She is still very much a puppy and will need some basic obedience and potty training. She is a very happy and playful, and thinks other dogs and toys are the best things ever.

Congratulations to Adrienne and Rob with Maxine for being adopted by Annabelle on January 16, 2010!

Ollie
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 1 Restrictions: None

Ollie was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on November 23, 2009. He was fast tracked for surgery to have a diaphragmatic hernia removed, has made a full recovery, and should need no further treatment. He is still very much a puppy who will need some basic training, and would do best with another well trained canine brother or sister to show him how to behave.

Congratulations to Vince and Pam for being adopted by Ollie on January 8, 2010!

Chase
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 3 Restrictions: Aggression towards larger dogs

Chase was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on November 11, 2009. This active young boy is neutered and in excellent overall health. He could actually stand to gain a few pounds. He does well with people and other dogs the same size or smaller than him, and is very energetic and playful. He will need to be placed in a home with a fenced in yard.

Congratulations to Sarah and Mike for being adopted by Chase on December 18, 2009!

Patty
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 4 Restrictions: None

Patty was welcomed into the rescue as a retired breeder on October 11, 2009. She has been in a foster home for the past year with a volunteer who had worked with a rescue that is no longer active. She has since been spayed and  is in excellent health except for some mild allergies. She is a quiet girl who gets along well with everyone and loves to get out to have fun.

Congratulations to Archie and Donna for being adopted by Patty on November 23, 2009!

Liza
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 7 Restrictions: No Small Children, No Other Dogs

Liza was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on January 26, 2009. She had her first trip to the vet in over four years and had successful spay and cherry eye surgery. She also has two luxated patellas and elbow dysplasia, which only slightly hinder her mobility. She can be picky about what other pets she gets along with, but is incredibly affectionate with people.

Congratulations to Kasi for being adopted by Liza on November 23, 2009!

Duke
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 2 Restrictions: None

Duke was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on August 28, 2009. Age: 5 Restrictions: None

Sampson was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on June 11, 2009. He is a very happy guy who gets along well with everyone and loves being the center of attention. He is very strong and very full of energy. The family who had to give him up took very good care of him until they could not take him along when they had to move. He is neutered, up to date on all his shots, and has no other health concerns.

Congratulations to John and Allison with Meaty for being adopted by Sampson on September 13, 2009!

Hurley
ADOPTED!

Gender: M

Age: 6 Restrictions: No Small Children

Hurley was welcomed into the rescue as a shelter pull on March 11, 2009. He recovered from dental surgery to have six rotten teeth extracted and had been previously neutered. We believe he was abused or neglected, which accounts for his sometimes skiddish behavior. He can be selective of who he gets along with as far as people go. He does great with other pets and does not have any health issues.

Congratulations to Jim, Cathy & Michael with Lucy for being adopted by Hurley on August 26, 2009!

Bella

Gender: F

Age: 3 Restrictions: Deaf

Bella was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on March 26, 2009. She is an energetic young girl who is looking for someone with the time and patience to work with her. Bella is deaf, so she will need to learn obedience and be supervised when not crated. Structured training classes are highly recommended. She has recovered from her spay surgery and has no other health concerns.

Congratulations to Jackie and Frankie for being adopted by Bella on July 9, 2009!

Petunia
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 4 Restrictions: None

Petunia was welcomed into the rescue as an owner surrender on June 11, 2009. The family who had to give her up took very good care of her until they had to move and could not take her with them. She is young and will do best with some basic obedience and a lot of attention.

Congratulations to Katie with Porkchop for being adopted by Princess on May 31, 2009!

A little over two years after bring adopted, Princess passed away from what is believed to have been a blood clot on July 11, 2011. She will be with us always in our thoughts and prayers.

He has no other health concerns and loves to play with other dogs, especially little breeds.

Congratulations to David for being adopted by George on May 7, 2009!

Matilda
ADOPTED!

Gender: F

Age: 5 Restrictions: Special Needs - Please Read Below

Matilda Jean, or Tilly, as we have lovingly nicknamed her, is our first official rescue with Bully for You. She was posted on Petfinder.com by a county animal shelter in the upper peninsula, where she had been tied to a donation box and left overnight in the freezing temperatures, underweight and in the middle of a heat cycle. We were aware she had some medical issues, and would obviously need to be spayed and brought up to date on vaccinations. Upon further inspection during the first of many baths, we observed several lumps on her mammary glands that turned out to be cancer. Things looked optimistic, as she thrived at home with us and our bullies, steadily gaining weight and romping through the yard. But when it came time for her surgery, the vet made us painfully aware of the grasp that the cancer had on her. It had spread through her entire body, filled her lungs, and lowered her blood pressure to an alarming rate. So low, in fact, that they were unable to proceed with the surgery and Tilly returned home with a grim prognosis. Expected to only be with us for several more months, we will be searching for a home with a family who fully understands Tilly's situation and has made the decision to ensure that her last days are filled with comfort and only the happiest of memories. This experience with her has only made me more determined in the fight to rescue other bulldogs from neglect and denial of medical attention before they end up like our Tilly.

Congratulations to the Palmers with Winston for being adopted by Tilly on February 15, 2009!

It is with heavy hearts that we were forced to say goodbye to Tilly on June 24, 2009. We are comforted with the thought that she will never be forgotten and are thankful to have played a part in giving her a happy last six months after being rescued. She will be with us always in our thoughts and prayers.
